Social Service Intern Adithan Arunachalam

While attending KC High in Chennai, India, Adithan Arunachalam served as an intern with the non-profit social service organization, Professionals Forum. He was the only high school student to work as an intern with the program. During his time in this position, Adithan coordinated Professionals Forum events that provided citizens with opportunities to engage with policymakers. He performed extensive research on progressive leadership in India, education inequality in Tamil Nadu, and other important topics.

In addition to his work at Professionals Forum, Adithan Arunachalam served his high school as a volunteer systems administrator. He played a role in migrating staff members to UBUNTU laptops. He was also captain and founder of the school’s cricket team and co-founder and co-president of the debate club.

Adithan received a Cambridge International Certificate of Education Award with Distinction. He was also a National Merit Scholarship finalist, among other academic honors. He is a fluent speaker of English, Tamil, and Hindi, and is conversant in Spanish. He has experience as an English, math, history, and social science tutor.
